INTRAMURALS (HOT-i)
Winter 2024 -25 (Nov – Mar)
HOT Volleyball Intramural Program (HOT-i) gives players the opportunity to put their volleyball skills to the test by joining a HOT volleyball team and competing in games and tournaments for awards and fun gear.
Prior knowledge of skills is necessary.

Skills Requirements
To ensure all players have an understanding of the fundamentals of the game, all students is recommended to have completed a minimum of 6 months of one of the following:
- HOT Volleyball Skills Development Program
- HOT Volleyball Development League Program
- Middle or High School JV/Varsity Team
- Club or travel team
Uniforms
Athletes are given a practice shirt and game jersey (extra gear will be given throughout the season). You are expected to wear these weekly to practices and games. We practice as a team, and we play as a team. Additional shirts and jerseys are available to purchase anytime during the season. All athletes are also expected to wear knee pads at every practice and game. Knee pads are also available for purchase.
Individual & Team Assessments
Individual and Team Assessment days will occur the first week of the season. This is when the athletes will be assessed and assigned to a team. Over the course of 2 days, coaches will have the students perform warmups and skills-based drills and play. Please indicate on your registration form if your athlete will be registering with friend(s) who want to be on the same team. Maximum 8 players per team. Groups of players can join as a team.
Practices
Each team will have a weekly practice session on a weeknight (additional practice may be added if needed or if gym is available. All athletes are REQUIRED to attend their team’s first practice. Athletes will have the choice between weeknight practices (excluding Little Spikers [3-5]) upon registration. Please indicate all of practice day(s) you are available because this WILL affect your team assignment. Practice schedules will be distributed on the first practice day.
HOT Spikers (3rd -5th) practice SAT: 11:30-1:30pm
Middle School practice TUES / THUR / FRI: 6-7:30pm
High School practice TUES / THUR / FRI: 7:30-9pm
Games
Games are weekly. Game schedules will be distributed after first team practice. Each team is expected to be ready to work the games or tournaments if needed to gain experience. Throughout the season, athletes will be recognized for both individual and team successes. Teams will also receive prizes for their team’s overall season record and for the end-of-season tournament.
Middle School games SUN 2-5pm.
High School games SUN 6-9pm.
Tournament
The tournament is on the last weekend of the program. Tournament Day is 1-3 hours (depending on age group), and athletes are expected to be in attendance for the full time period. At the end of each age group’s tournament day, prizes & awards will be distributed!

- Why should I do HOT Intramurals (HOT-i)?
Intermediate Level:
- This is the place for you to grow, this is a Developmental Intramurals, where you LEARN and develop as a volleyball player for the good of the team.
- You don’t have to TRYOUT. You are placed on a team or join as a team.
- You can join with friends and play together which not everyone gets that chance.
- You learn all the aspects of being on a team: the commitment, the accountability, dealing with losing/winning, sportsman-like conduct, being dependable, learning the unknown details of games, build for a team goal while working on your individual goals too.
Intermediate/Advanced Level:
- This is the place for you to grow, this is a Developmental Intramurals, where you LEARN and develop as a volleyball player for the good of the team.

- We are a Development Program and train athletes to learn HOW to make a team and what to do once you are on a team. We have HOT-i which are Intramural Teams (6 High School, 6 Middle School & 4 Little Spikers Grades 3rd to 5th)
